With the acquisition of the Club de hockey Canadien, the Bell Centre, evenko, and Equipe Spectra, the concerts and events department of the company added in , the Molson family revived a long-standing tradition that dates back to the s, and covers three generations. Geoff Molson, 48, was born and raised in Montreal and, like his brothers, has been a Canadiens fan going back to the days when the Molson Brewery owned the team. As a student Geoff Molson got his first summer job at Molson Breweries as a sales and marketing representative.

He returned to the Molson Brewery in , first in Toronto and then in Denver, Colorado as vice president of marketing, he position he held until Back in his hometown, he was vice president of marketing for Molson, playing a strategic role in the development of company brands and strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders.

In December , he became Chairman of the Board of Directors and general partner with Molson and, a few months later he was successful in his bid to acquire the Montreal Canadiens and the Bell Centre. In Montreal, where he lives with his wife Kate and their four children, community is a priority. In the city of the original Molson Brewery, the long-standing tradition of giving back is not forgotten. He also sits on the board of the Molson family foundation to support philanthropic initiatives across Canada, and continues to serve on the board of the St.

Geoff was appointed to the Order of Canada in , in honor of his "entrepreneurial leadership and for his philanthropic contributions, notably through the family's foundation and other local organizations.
